Three people injured in truck-train collision
Jaipur, Feb 24 (UNI) At least three people were seriously injured in a train accident involving trucks at Shivdaspura a railway crossing on the outskirt of Jaipur late last night.
Senior Divisional Operational Manager of Northern-Western Railway Lalit Bohra said the accident had occured when Kota-Shayam-Bayana passenger train rammed into a convoy of four trucks passing through a railway crossing. Two of the four trucks were completely ruined to debris. Driver of train Ashok Kumar, assistant driver Dhannaram and gateman Rameshwar were suspended, he added.
He further told the gateman could not close the gate due to heavy rush of road traffic as it was reopend after crossing of a goods train. The Kota bound passanger train arrived at the crossing causing the accident. Relief train was rushed to the spot, he added.
Both rail and road traffic remained disrupted till early this morning due to the accident.
All the injured were hospitalised at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Sitapura industrial area. The injured were identified as Lalan Verma and Dinesh, both resident of Jamnagar and Jagmandar of Haryana.
