Small water theme park proposed at KSR

Mysore, Feb 24 (UNI) The Krishnaraja Sagar Reservoir (KSR), about 18 km from here, will fulfil the long-standing demand of tourists to sepnd some time in the cool waters as the authorities have proposed to build a small water theme park.

The Cauvery Neeravari Nigama (CNN), the custodian of the KRS, had finalised the project, sources in the CNN told UNI.

The theme park would attract more tourists during daytime, as the Brindavan Gardens came alive only in the evening.

A state-of the-art food park and a lake for pedal boating will be the additional attractions.

Despite being a popular tourist spot, the place lacked basic facilities such as drinking water, toilets and hotels. The CNN is now tackling these issues.

The Nigama had consulted architects to ensure the upcoming attractions go well with the surroundings.

The worn-out concrete on the pavements were repaired as part of the beautification work.

The musical fountain, the most fascinating part of the Brindavan Garden, was a big hit with tourists after digital technology and higher power music system was incorporated.

The fountain has been synchronised with Kannada, Hindi and English tunes. A gallery had been built for the convenience of visitors watching the musical fountain on the Northern side of the garden.
