Police arrest four Naxalites, recover arms and ammunition

Dehri-on-Sone, Feb 24 (UNI) Four suspected Naxalites were arrested today by police from Dhansa forest area in Rohtas district of south Bihar and some arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

Superintendent of Police N H Khan here said acting on a tip-off a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) and Special Task Force (STF) raided the extrtemists' hideout deep inside the Dhansa forest near Kaimoor range, about 45 km from here, early today and arrested the four ultras.

Two countrymade guns, one revolver, several crude bombs and a large number of live cartriges were recovered from them.

Earlier, on seeing the approaching police team, the extremists opened indiscriminate fire and lobbed several bombs on them from their hideout. However, none of the security force personnel was injured, the SP said adding that the police also retaliated the fire before arresting the Naxalites.

Following the interrogation of the arrested extremists at Sasaram, the district headquarters, the Police conducted further raids and recovered more ammunition.
