Haryana govt gives Rs 3 crore to NGOs for women programmes
Chandigarh, Feb 24 (UNI) The Haryana Government has so far released a financial assistance of about Rs 3.22 crore to non-governmental organisations to enable them to run various training projects for women and conduct activities to raise awareness among them.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Women and Child Development Department said financial assistance had been provided since March 2005 in the form of grant-in-aid to voluntary and welfare organisations, semi government organisations as well as training and research institutes functioning in Haryana for organising activities for the welfare of women, children and adolescent girls.
He said a sum of Rs 75 lakh was earmarked for the purpose during the current financial year.
He said a sum of Rs one crore was provided under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme to provide toys and swings for children in Anganwadi Centres in the State during the current financial year.
