Hyderabad, Feb 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today asked the opposition parties not to politicise the backwardness of certain regions in the state and cooperate with the government in taking up developmental activities.
In an open letter to the opposition parties, he said the government was committed to develop the backward areas in the state.
The opposition parties, which try to politicise the backwardness for political gains would be exposed as the people were witnessing development activities in the state during the last three years.
He said due to certain steps taken by his government, the food production in the state had touched 185 lakh tonne this year.
The government proposed to constitute an autonomous body to study the backward areas in the state and suggest steps for its development within a stipulated time.
He urged the opposition parties to cooperate with the government for bringing a Legislation in this regard in the Assembly.
The government had concentrated more on the development of the Telangana region compared to Andhra and Rayalaseem regions, he added.
