Air India win, Bagan lost to Mahindra

Jamshedpur, Feb 24 (UNI) Air India defeated IFA (Bengal) by 2-1 while Mahindra United registered victory over fancied Mohan Bagan with identical mergin (2-1) in the JRD Tata Youth Cup (Under-19) Invitational Football Tournament here today.

Air India's striker Subash Singam Singh drew first blood in the 22nd minute but Lal Rin Dika of IFA drew parity in the extra time to for go for 1-1 during the breather.

Karan Amin of Air India scored the winning goal in the 71st miunte through a fine header defeating goal keeper Tanmoy Karmakar.

In the second match Mahindra took lead in the 15th minute when striker Uarin Mehta took a powerful shot from the top of the box (1-0). Bagan missed a golden opportunity to level the score in the first half. But their captain Sanjoy Boro missed a penalty. Thanks to fine saving by custodian Yatish Shetty.

Air India increased their tally in the 68th minute when Sagar M.

Bedekar scored from a fine mid-field move (2-0). Bagan's Sourav Chakravorty reduced the margin in the 88th minute (2-1).
