Tiruchirapalli, Feb 24 (UNI) Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI), New Delhi, Co-Chairman, L V Saptharishi said agriculture should restore its original glory to ensure overall development of the country.
Delivering the inaugural address at the seminar on 'Global knowledge connectivity,' organised by the Society for Education Village Action and Improvement (SEVAI), an NGO, here , yesterday, he said agriculture should be in the forefront of knowledge connectivity. If agriculture was ignored then knowledge connectivity would have no meaning, he added.
He said two fundamental issues favouring the success of global connectivity were self-dependence and self-sufficiency.
Efforts should be taken to make the society self dependent and agriculture along with industrial and service sectors had to play a key role for the same. He called upon the NGOs to extend assistance to the farmers.
Tamil Nadu Board of Continuing Education, President and SEVAI Director K Govindaraju in his address pointed out that communication and knowledge connectivity had become a key feature of sustainable development.
