10 lakh bank employees to strike work Feb 25, 26

Hyderabad, Feb 24 (UNI) About ten lakh bank employees and officers of public sector and old-generation private sector banks would participate in the February 25 and 26 bank strike in the country.

After the 'failed' talks between Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram and the Indian Bank Association Chairman recently, the Union Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) called for the strike to press their demands,'' a UFBU release here said.

UGBU Andhra Pradesh Zone Convenor K Ramakoteswara Rao said several public personalities and trade union leaders would also participate.

Around 75,000 bank employees and officers would take part in the agitation in the State, he added.
