Jalandhar, Feb 23 (UNI) Police today registered a case against two senior officials of the Indian Airforce in connection with the death of an employee this morning at Adampur Airforce Station, near here.

Police said a case under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC was registered against Wing Commander Bharat Kumar and Flight Lt Ram Kumar Mourya at Adampur Police Station in connection with the death of Sachin Bahari (28), a Group D employee, working as accountant in the station for the last four years.

Sachin's family alleged that he was ''beaten to death by Air Force officials''.

However, Defence Spokesperson Naresh Vig claimed that the deceased had committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance this orning.

''When he was seen vomiting, his colleagues immediately provided him with first aid and then rushed him to the Military Hospital, but he died on the way,'' Mr Vig said.

He said that the deceased had allegedly committed some bungling in the Mess accounts. An enquiry conducted in this regard established the fact that he did not deposit over Rs one lakh in the bank, he added.

Sachin's parents alleged that Airforce Officials committed the irregularity themselves and wanted to put the blame on their son.

They said that as Sachin got married on February 3, he was on leave. Yesterday, the officials had called him to the station. In order to make him the scapegoat, he was beaten to death, they alleged.

After hearing the news of the death, deceased's parents, relatives along with other villagers staged a protest in front of the Airforce Station gate.

Shouting slogans against the officials, they tried to force entry into the station and even succeeded in breaking the first gate of the station.
