Patna, Feb 23 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi today denied that any opposition member raised slogans against Bihar Governor R S Gavai, when he was addressing the joint sitting of both houses of the state legislature on opening day of the budget session yesterday.

Ms Rabri Devi said the root of democracy in the country was ''very deep'' and no one could ever think of raising slogan against the Governor, according to release issued here today.

''When the Bihar governor was addressing the joint sitting of both houses of the state legislature yesterday, I was present in the House and did not hear any one raising slogan against him'', she said adding that expressing concern on flawed policies and failures of the State Government was altogether a different matter and opposition had every right to do that.

She dubbed the reports of some channels and newspapers about such incidents as ''rubbish''.''The attempts of Maharastra Navnirvan Sena president Bal Thackeray to create rift in the society on the basis of region and language is threat to ''unity and integrity'' of the country'', she said adding stringent action should be taken against such elements.
