Omaxe CMD, Chandavarkar bags ArchiDesign Awards

New Delhi, Feb 23: The coveted Architect of the Year Award went to Bangalore's Chandavarkar&Thacker Architects Pvt Ltd, while Omaxe CMD Rohtas Goel received the award for the fastest growing real estate developer at the glittering grand finale of ArchiDesign Awards for the year 2007 here last evening.

Chandavarkar&Thacker Architects Pvt Ltd received the award for the KAIC Ltd International Flower Auction Complex in Bangalore. Organised by the Foundation for architectural and Environmental Awareness (FAEA), the annual ArchiDesign Awards are given in recognition for excellence in architecture and infrastructure.

Among 22 national winners was the legendary Structural Engineer of the country C R Alimchandani who was felicitated with the Structural Engineer of the Year Award.

Architect Anup Naik won the Award for the Best Commercial Building Design for the project - Plumeria the Boutique in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. In the Best Interior Design (non-residential) category, Architect Arun Kullu got the award for the stunning restaurant 'The Chowk' in Gurgaon, Haryana.

The Critics' Choice Award for the Best Film Set Design was jointly bagged by Muneesh Sappel for his sets in Hindi films 'Paheli' and 'Pinjar' and Raashid Rangrez for his sets in Punjabi film 'Waris Shah'.
