Chandigarh, Feb 23 (UNI) Tanishq today displayed the original jewellery that it had specially created for the epic movie 'Jodhaa Akbar' and which could well adorn the commoners as the brand is also offering a pret line of the exquisite collection.
The unique exhibition showcased the intricate details of the art forms from the medieval era, complementing the Mughal and Rajput excellence in fashioning of majestic jewellery.
Inspired from Tanishq's creations for the movie 'Jodhaa Akbar'', the pret version of pure 22k Jadaue in Kundan, Polki and Meenakari has been introduced, which could well turn modern-day brides into queens on their wedding.
The Jodha Akbar collection, which would also be exhibited in Ahmedabad and Bangalore having alreadt toured Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow, incorporates the glamour and allure of Jodha's and Akbar's jewellery that seamlessly blends traditional motifs and techniques with modern design sensibilities.
The pret line jewellery of Jodhaa Akbar collection is available at select tanishq outlet in key cities across the country.
The collection highlighted Tanishq's initiative to revive unique ''head to toe'' royal jewellery and breathe fresh life into a lot of beautiful ornaments which had got lost in the sands of time including sarpech, archer's ring, arsi, bhor, hansli using popular natural motifs of peacock, lotus, hans, flowers and leaves.
It also uses the harmonious greens favoured by Mughala and Rajput fascination for fiery reds as perfect foil for each other.
Tanishq worked in collaboration with Chitrakala Parishad for six months to assimilate detailed historical research and engaged over 200 craftpersons who laboured for over two years to the create 400 stunning pieces of exclusive handcrafted ornaments of semi-precious stones set in tradfitional Kundan and Meenakari technique favoured by the craftsmen of the period.
The masterpieces such as Akbar's magnificent ceremonial sword, Archer's Ring, Sarpech. Jodhaa's wedding trousseau recreate the opulence and pageantry of the bygone era.
