Jagannathan elected IGU chief

New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) Well known industrialist T T Jagannatahan is the new President of the Indian Golf Union (IGU).

Mr Jagannathan takes over from former Army Chief J J Singh.

Chairman and Managing Director of TTK group of industries, Jagannathan was elected to the post at the IGU's 50th Annual General meeting held here yesterday.

Hailing from Bangalore, Jagannathan is a good golfer and also held the post of IGU Vice-President in 2006 and 2007.

''The new President would be approaching various state governments to start public golf courses in India and also driving ranges, particularly in the metro cities where land is at premium,'' an IGU press release said.
