International award for Kashmir University VC

Srinagar, Feb 23: Kashmir University Vice-Chancellor Prof Riyaz Punjabi has been selected for the title of ''Honorary Professor'' of the International University, Vienna, for his contribution in strengthening international relations in the sphere of education.

According to a communication received from Europe Business Assembly (EBA) in Oxford, London, the decision of selecting Dr Punjabi was taken in recognise of his services in the field of education.

The title is conferred for strengthening international relations in the sphere of science and education.

Emphasising the public credence and high status of the title, a communication from Director General EBA has invited Dr Punjabi to attend three-day ''International Socrates Award Ceremony'' from March 16, 2008 at Town Hall in the centre of world academia at Oxford.

The event attracts attendants from 20 countries world over.
