Tearful farewell to Evangelist
Chennai, Feb 22 (UNI) Millions of people bade a tearful farewell as the mortal remains of Evangelist Brother D G S Dinakaran, who died here on February 20, buried at the Kilpauk cemetry here this afternoon.
After a funeral service at the YMCA Grounds in Royapettah, the body was taken in a procession to the cemetry and buried at the cemetry garden as hundreds of people from various parts of the country bade a tearful farewell.
Ms Stella Dinakaran, wife of the Evangelist, Dr Paul Dinakaran, his son and grand children accompanied the body in the procession.
Earlier at the funeral service, Bro Dinakaran's grandchildren Sam, Sharan and Sweety, sung special songs in memory of their grandfather.
After the funeral service, Dr Paul Dinakaran thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and leaders of various political parties, Pastors and Bishops from various churches, Heads of different religions and millions of people, who paid their homage and expressed solidarity with him.
He said he was touched by the gesture of Mr Karunanidhi, who rushed to the hospital, minutes after hearing the news of his father's death to pay homage.
