Imphal, Feb 22 (UNI) The cease-work strike of Manipur Secretariat Service Association (MSSA) members entered the fifth day today thus affecting the administrative work.
About 800 MSSA members were opposing the government's move to appoint 25 section officers in the Secretariat and demanding to fill the vacant posts through promotion of the already existing employees.
However, the government has warned the agitators of dire consequences if they did not return to work immediately.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has appealed to the employees to withdraw their stir and said their services will be protected.
