Jammu, Feb 22 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed's name was not enlisted among the dignitaries who were to meet UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, on a day-long visit to the snow affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
''I returned from Udhampur because my name was not enlisted among the dignitaries who were to meet Ms Gandhi,'' Mr Sayeed told UNI, asserting that he was not aware of the reason.
Mr Sayeed had to resign from the state ministry following allegation of accepting ''bribe'' as a sitting MLA.
According to sources, Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education, Aijaz Ahmed Khan was also not allowed to meet the UPA Chairperson during her visit at Udhampur.
''Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and newly appointed JKPCC president Saiffudin Soz accompanied Ms Gandhi to the snow hit areas of the state,'' the sources added.
