Govt takes back land, restore to original assignees
Hyderabad, Feb 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Government has taken back 1,45,570.03 acres of land and restored 31,358 acres of land to original assignees, Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao informed the state Assembly today.
An extent of 84,052.5 acres were assigned to other landless poor people and 30,158.54 acres had been reserved for public purposes in accordance with provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Assigned Lands Act, 1977, he said during the Question Hour, replying to Congress member D Rajasekhar.
Out of the total extent of 52,00,901.54 acres of land assigned so far, as many as 4,54,230.81 acres were transferred in violation of the provisions of the Act, he added.
