Farmers all round development govt's priority, Rane
Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Revenue Minister Narayan Rane today said the government has so far given benefits to 9.8 lakh farmers in the state and waived interest on loans of Rs 800 crore.
Speaking at the conclusion of the 'Kisan Chetana Dindi' (farmers march), Mr Rane said the farmer's all round development is the government's priority.
He urged all political leaders, cutting across partyline, to come together to resolve the problems of beleagured farmers, a release said here.
State dairy development minister Anees Ahmed said this was the third year of the 'dindi' and added that the government had so far distributed 7,000 cows/buffaloes in the six districts of Vidarbha, where more suicides were reported.
He said nearly 90 per cent of relief package has been implemented, the release added.
