CPM demands Valsaraj's resignation
Puducherry, Feb 22 (UNI) The CPI(M) in Puducherry today sought the resignation of Health Minister E Valsaraj in the wake of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption police registering cases against him on moral grounds.
Condemning Valsaraj for his statement that CPM was levelling baseless charges against him for political mileage, Party state secretary V Perumal, in a statement here said the people of Mahe were fully aware of who filed the petition and to which party he belongs.
An inquiry with Mr Valsaraj remaining in power would not only be free and fair but also impartial. Therefore he should resign and face trial. If he fails to step down, the Chief Minister should dismiss him, he demanded.
