Athavale demands protection for Marathi Bhikkhus in Bihar
Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Republican Party of India President Ramdas Athavale today demanded protection for Marathi Bhikkhus (Monks) at Bauddha Gaya in Bihar.
Mr Athavale had recieved reports that the Hindi speaking people have asked Marathi speaking Bhikkhus to leave the state and there were agitations outside Bihar Governor R S Gavai's residence as he is also a Maharashtrian, demanding him to leave the state, a release here today said.
He urged Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to protect Marathi speaking people in Bihar.
Athavale said he had already condemned the agitation held here by Raj Thackeray, which was against north Indians.
