Indore, Feb 22 (UNI) A local court today stayed an arrest warrant issued by it on February 20 against Bollywood actor-turned-producer Aamir Khan in a case relating to dishonour of the national flag.

Khan's counsel Pankaj Bagdiya submitted, to Judicial Magistrate Fayyaz Khan, a Madhya Pradesh High Court Indore bench order allowing the actor reprieve from appearing in person.

Judicial Magistrate V S Mubel issued a warrant in October 2007.

Khan attended a programme here on August 16, 2007 for publicising a Toyota vehicle. Mr Shailendra Sharma complained in court against the actor, the vehicle's distributor, programme organisers Rakesh and Ashok Rajpal alleging that the tricolour was dishonoured during the programme. A first information report was registered against the Rajpal brothers.
