Kathmandu, Feb 21 (UNI) Britain has decided to carry out work related visa processing, which it had been doing from its Embassy here, from the British High Commission in New Delhi.
In a press release the Embassy said, ''Like before, the applications would be collected at the VFS Global office at Nagpokhari.'' It stated that the applications will then be forwarded to the British High Commission in New Delhi for considerations. The Embassy has stated that all requirements will remain the same.
The applicants will not be required to visit New Delhi for interviews, as all applications will be processed without any interview, according to the release.
The change is not limited to Nepal and it has been operational already in some other countries.
The release further stated that Kolkata will be the next visa office to move to New Delhi followed by the posts in other countries in South Asia region.
The process could take some time as a result of moving to New Delhi and the Embassy advised the applicants to apply in good time, stating that the applications can be made as early as three months before the planned date of travel to Britain.
The change came into effect from February 18.
