TN govt appoints Urdu teachers in city corporation
Chennai, Feb 21 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government today appointed 23 Urdu teachers to be posted in 19 Urdu Primary and Middle schools run by the Chennai Corporation.
Local Administration Minister M K Stalin issued the appointment orders to the teachers, recruited through the employment exchange.
In all, 2,356 students were studying in the Urdu schools, where there were 36 Urdu teachers. The present appointment of 23 Urdu teachers was after 1997, when 27 teachers appointed during the DMK regime.
No Urdu teacher was appointed in the last five years when the AIADMK was in power, an official release here said.
