Lorry driver held for smuggling sim cards into prison
Tiruchirapalli, Feb 21 (UNI) The central prison authorities caught a lorry driver, who attempted to smuggle sim cards, cells and mobile phone chargers into the central prison here yesterday.
Police said the lorry driver was allowed into the prison, along with his vehicle, to remove felled trees inside the prison premises.
Acting on a tip off, the prison officials conducted a search in the lorry and seized the above items, allegedly meant for some prisoners.
The lorry driver Vijayaraghavan (50) was later handed over to the local police.
