New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) The warmth in the air in Delhi today persisted with the day temperature in the city shooting up to 27.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.
Though there was a slight drop in minimum temperature in the morning to 8.2 degrees Celsius, a bright sunlight during the day time led the maximum temperature in the city to shoot up to 27.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.
A slight fog was witnessed in the morning though visibility remained near normal at 800 m.
The warmth in the air could persist over the next few days with weathermen forecasting rise in minimum temperature in Delhi towards the weekend.
''The current meteorological analysis suggest that the minimum temperatures over plains of Northwest India are likely to increase by 2-4 degrees during February 22 to 24,''the weather office said.
The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi in the next 24 hours with a likelihood of slight mist in the morning.
The minimum is likely to remain at 8 degrees Celsius.
