Thunder showers bring down escalating temperatures
Kolkata, Feb 20 (UNI) The city and its adjoining areas experienced thunder showers and moderate rainfall late last night and early this morning, bringing down the mercury by a few notches.
The skies remained partly cloudy throughout the day with light drizzles in some areas.
About 10 mm rainfall was recorded in the city during the past 24 hours, Met officials said.
The Alipore Met office recorded the maximum temperature at 26.2 degrees Celsius, four degrees below normal while the minimum was 17.1 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.
The maximum relative humidity was pegged at 89 per cent.
Met sources forecast a partly cloudy sky with thunder showers and light rain in some parts. The minimum temperature is likely to be around 17 degrees Celsius.
