Ranchi, Feb 20 (UNI) High alert was sounded in Jharkhand in the wake of tomorrow's 24-hour bandh called by CPI(Maoist) in protest against killing of their cadres in East Singhbhum district last month.
Altogether eight maoist were killed in an encounter with police and Nagrik Suraksha Samittee at Bhitaramda village under Dumaria police station on January 13.
Security measures have been beefed up and direction given to all the district superintendent of police.
Besides, special vigil would be maintained in naxal dominated Latehar, Palamu, Chatra, Giridih and Simdega districts, police said.
Meanwhile, a special task force was formed to counter any untoward incident at Palamu and police force would provide escort to buses coming towards here.
