Lucknow, Feb 20 (UNI) The girl participants of Gautam Buddha Nagar (GB Nagar) remained on the top of Wushu events in the ongoing 6th Uttar Pradesh games here on day three.
Anita Sharma, Neha, Neelam Nagar, Anju, Anita and Jayawanti bagged one gold each for GB Nagar in Wushu.
The due of UP Police Pushpendra Singh and Saurabh Singh were declared as the joint best men athletes, while the girls' category golds were lifted jointly by Suman yadav (Lucknow and Shikha Tyagi (Saharanpur) of the same event.
In the men Boxing event, Mahoba's Jitendra Singh won the gold, while in the women's category Kavita Gaur of Moradabad was declared the winner.
All the winners were rewarded with Rs 2,000 in cash and a trophey each.
Kanpur girls won the final of the women's football event beating Varanasi 3-1 in tie breaker. In the stipulated time, both the teams were tied at 1-1.
Jitendra Singh of Mahoba and Kavita Gaur of Moradabad were adjusted as the best men and women boxer, while in the weightlifting events, Vishwendra Singh (UP Police) and Swati Singh (Varanasi) were declared as best men and women weight lifters respectively.
International netball player Laitka Mittal and Nadeem of Lucknow clinched gold for men and women categories respectively with the spirit performances.
In the netball's final encounter of the women's category, both Gaziabad and Varanasi girls dispalyed hardfought game and ultimately the former won at 24-20.
In the men's final of the same event, Gaziabad boys outclassed Lakhimpur 21-12.
Lucknow will take on Meerut in the final of men's hockey tomorrow.
In the semi finals today, Meerut beat Varanasi 1-0 and Lucknow beat Allahabad 4-0.
In the Tennis final (women), Namrata Dubey of Lucknow will take on her city mate Arti and Satish, also from Lucknow, will challenge Nagendra of Varanasi.
