Banned militants launch poster campaign against voters in Tripura
Agartala, Feb 20 (UNI) Outlawed BNCT militants have launched a poster campaign in the remote locations of Khowai area in West Tripura and threatened the people not to cast their vote on February 23.
According to police, the militants had earlier reportedly issued notice to the villagers and recently they launched a poster campaign threatening the voters of dire consequences if they cast their votes.
Meanwhile, the Left Front has accused Congress-INPT alliance of using the banned militant outfits in the election process to deprive the genuine voters from their right.
CPI (M) spokesperson Goutam Das alleged that earlier they had snatched the electoral photo ID cards from the voters in the Left dominated tribal areas and intimidated their supporters and now the opposition used them in an undemocratic propaganda.
He demanded adequate security deployment in the particular locations and take action against the culprits.
