Hyderabad, Feb 20 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly today adopted the motion of thanks for the Governor's address amidst din, with members of the main Opposition TDP staging a noisy protest in the Well of the House.
The TDP members rushed to the Speaker's podium even as Housing Minister B Satyanarayana Rao rose to clarify after Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu levelled some charges against him in connection with the Volkeswagon scam.
After repeated interruptions by the TDP members, when the Chief Minister was providing clarifications on his reply to the debate that spilled over to sixth consecutive today, Assembly Deputy Speaker G Kutuhalamma put the motion of thanks moved by senior Congress Legislator G Venkata Reddy to voice vote and the same was adopted amidst pandemonium.
When there was no sign of restoration of normalcy even after she asked Samajwadi Party member D K Aruna to initiate the general discussion on the budget, Ms Kutuhalamma adjourned the House for tomorrow.
Earlier, the Chief Minister, expressing unhappiness over the conduct of the TDP members who rushed to the Well every now and then, said, ''It is highly improper on the part of the Opposition to try to bulldoze the Deputy Speaker.'' UNI SM VA SJ DS RN1719
