Hyderabad, Feb 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today proposed the constitution of a statutory authority on the lines of the Finance Commission (FC), constituted by the Centre, to recommend allocation of funds region-wise or district-wise.
''If all parties agree, I am ready to constitute a statutory authority to ensure balanced growth of the state, including backward areas,'' he said in his reply to the motion of thanks to the Governor's address.
The state government was considering constitution of the statutory body to recommend devolution of funds, district or region-wise, to various sectors, including industries, irrigation and human resources development, he said inviting suggestions from all the parties.
The state government had allocated over Rs 25,000 crore on irrigation projects in the Telangana region, he said adding the government was leaving no stone unturned to ensure implementation of GO 610 and employees from other regions would be repatriated to their respective regions as early as possible.
He said though the Presidential order on the issue did not cover public sector units, the state government had brought even PSUs under purview of the order.
