Vigilance sleuths detect wealth more than Rs 40 lakh
Bhubaneswar, Feb 19 (UNI) The sleuths of the state Vigilance department today found unacounted wealth of more than Rs 40 lakh from the possession of Malkangiri Road and Building Division Executive Engineer Surendranath Samal during a raid.
The sleuths raided the residence of Mr Samal at Berhampur, his government quarter at Malkangiri R&B colony and residence of his relatives and detected the weath, vigilance sources said.
During the search, the vigilance officers found Rs 3,90,223 in cash, Bank deposit and payment made towards LIC premium, amounting to Rs 10,75,302, gold ornaments and other household articles amounting to Rs 3,90,000 approximately.
In addition to it, three residential plots six acre of agricultural land, two residential buildings in Ganjam worth Rs 24,35,317 approximately were also detected, the sources said.
