RCS to start district-level blood banks in TN
Pudukkottai, Feb 19: The Tamil Nadu branch of the Indian Red Cross Society (RCS) is planning to start district-level blood banks, by mobilising support of individuals and institutions.
RCS secretary Santha Tiaz, speaking at a function here on Sunday, said the society would extend all assistance to the district branches coming forward to start the blood banks. She urged the state government to provide free site for constructing buildings for the district branches of the Society in Tamil Nadu.The state branch of the RCS would strengthen the Youth Red Cross movement in all higher educational institutions to sensitise the youths on the seriousness of sex-related issues.
