Notices to Censor Board, Dir. and others on 'Jodha Akbar'
Chandigarh, Feb 19 (UNI) A local court today sent notices to the Central Film Censor Board and Director, producer, production house and a local movie theatre in a case seeking ban on the screening of Hritik-Aishwarya starrer 'Jodha Akbar', alleging distortion of historical facts and threatening communal harmony and peace.
The case was filed by Akhil Bharatiya Rajput Adhivakta Sangh through its Chairperson Arvind Thakur in the court of Civil Judge Senior Division here, which had fixed the hearing for today.
The Civil Judge (Senior Division) Pravin Kumar Lal, while taking up the case today, sent notices to the Censor Board, Film Producer Ronnie Screwala, Director Ashutosh Gowarikar, movie production house UTV Softeware Ltd and the local theatre screening the movie to present their side.
The court has fixed April three as the next date for the next hearing in the case.
The Sangh has also filed another case in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, seeking action against the film director, producer and Censor Board Chairperson Sharmila Tagore.
The CJM had fixed the hearing in this case on May 3 next.
