Nautica announces its assocition with SMIBS Navy Cup Regatta

Mumbai, Feb 19 (UNI) Nautica, the leading global lifestyle brand, today announced its association with the SMIBS Navy Cup Regatta 2008, the city's largest Sailboat race to be held on February 23.

Nautica will be the presenting partner for the SMIBS Navy Cup Regatta 2008. The company's association with the SMIBS Navy Cup Regatta is aimed at bringing the world of sailing closer to India.

The SMIBS Navy Cup Regatta 2008 will be the largest boat race in the history of India with approximately 300 participants of all age groups between six and 60, from sailing clubs in the city and outside participating in in this Regatta, as announced at a press conference, here today.

Many of the sailors, who have been participants in the Asian Games as well as the Olympics, will also be taking part.

The Nautica SMIBS Navy Cup Regatta will start at the Naval Sailing Club, here and promises to be a visual delight as well as a sporting adventure at sea with several sailboats maneuvering the waves.

The Nautica SMIBS Navy Cup Regatta 2008 will be raced in the waters of the Arabian Sea off South Mumbai.

Dr Malav Shroff, Managing Director, Ocean Blue the Company which is organising the Samira Mumbai International Boat show to be held after the Regetta from February 28 to March 2, said at the conference that the Nautica SMIBS Navy Cup Regatta is definitely a high point in the Boat Show calendar while celebrating the spirit of boating, sailing and adventure at sea.

Speaking on the partnership with SMIBS, Nautica Business Head Dhruv Bogra said, ''The MIBS Regatta is one of the finest sailing events in the country and the Regatta provides Nautica, the right platform to communicate with its customers in an environment that reflects the true values of the brand and enables it to connect better with its consumers.'' The Samira Mumbai International Boat show will showcase sail boats, kayaks, ski boats, motor boats, luxury yachts from the worlds leading international brand names like Azimut, Majesty, Searay, Ferretti, Princess, Fairline and Sunseeker and many more. With this wide range of boats, the Samira Mumbai International Boat Show will introduce discerning Indians to a whole new luxury lifestyle on the water, as stated at the conference.
