Hundreds defy ULFA bandh to welcome Zee's Li'l Champ finalist
Guwahati, Feb 19 (UNI) Hundreds of people defied ULFA's ''Assam bandh'' in Jorhat district today to welcome home reality talent show finalist Anamika Choudhury.
Anamika flew down to Jorhat this afternoon before she heads for London to participate in the final show-down for the winner's trophy in Zee TV's reality-based singing talent hunt show ''Saregamapa''.
Anamika was voted first among the top three contestants, who have made the final cut.
Hundreds of fans of this class III student of Mariani town of the district lined up along the road to welcome her home.
She was taken in a procession to her home at Mariani after landing at the airport.
The Anamika Fan Club, floated to garner support for this singing star, led the local residents in organising the welcome procession. She will be performing in Jorhat and Marinai towns in the evening before flying back tomorrow.
The ULFA had called a 12-hour bandh today. Though the bandh evoked some response in the morning hours, the enthusiasum to welcome the little star led people to defy the bandh call.
