Folk singer in judicial custody in human trafficking case
Sangrur, Feb 19 (UNI) Popular Punjabi folk singer Balbir Mann, wanted in a case of human trafficking, was today nabbed by police here.
He was produced in the local court which sent him to Sangrur jail in judicial remand for 14 days.
Mann was arrested on complaint of Gurmit Singh of village Sajuma, who had lodged an FIR on Oct 11 last year alleging that the singer had taken Rs 4.55 lakh from him on the promise of taking him abroad as his musical troupe member.
Since the registering of the FIR, Mann had become untraceable in the region.
However, on a tip off today, police managed to nab him.
