Centrally-sponsored schemes fell prey to corruption: Joshi
Gorakhpur, Feb 19 (UNI) Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mayawati, Uttar Pradesh Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi today alleged that due to the former's 'lackadaisical' attitude, 13 significant welfare schemes sponsored by the Centre fell prey to corruption.
''Mayawati is showing keen interest in providing 300-day employment to Rajasthan's youth, but persistently turning a deaf ear to pain and agony of unemployed youth in UP,'' Ms Joshi told reporters here before leaving for a 'Kisan rally' in Ram Kola area of Kushinagar district.
''The UP CM has nothing to do with development of the state...she is busy embezzling funds alloted by the Centre. Appropriate funds had also been provided under the 11th plan, but were of no avail to people of the state,'' she charged.
