SCCI, IBPC sign MoU to set up trade exhibition centre in Sharjah
New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Indian Business and Professional Council, Sharjah (IBPC) have signed an agreement for setting up an India Trade and Exhibition Centre in Sharjah.
''IBPC, which has an affiliation with industry body Assocham have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for starting India Trade and Exhibition Centre in Sharjah,'' a statement said.
The agreement, which has become effective, also aims at increasing the country's bilateral trade ties with Sharjah and other business center in West Asia, IBPC Chairman Sudesh K Aggarwal said.
The exhibition centre will be built over a land of 20,000 sq ft, which has been gifted by Dr Shaikh Sultan bid Mohd. Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah.
The exhibition centre will have a built up area of 50,000 sq ft and will cost about Rs 27.50 crores and will promote trade and investment between India and the UAE, West Asia and North Africa.
It will also hold exhibitions of Indian products through seminars/workshops and conferences.
Office space will be available on lease for Indian enterprises and Indian corporates, it added.
