Kshatriya Mahasabha demands ban on 'Jodha Akbar' in MP
Bhopal, Feb 18 (UNI) The Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha (ABKM) has demanded a ban on the screening of Hrithik-Aishwarya starrer 'Jodha Akbar' in Madhya Pradesh.
Mahasabha's General Secretary Surendra Singh Tomar and state ABKM President Bherusingh Chouhan told reporters here today that a delegation of the Mahasabha has met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and demanded a ban on screening of the movie as it tarnished the history of 'kshatriyas'.
''No where in the history it has been mentioned that Rajputs had agreed to enter into marital alliance with Mughals. The film director has hurt the sentiments of a section of society for professional gains and this was not appropriate,'' Mr Tomar said.
He said the BJP Government in Rajasthan had banned the film in Rajasthan keeping the feelings of Rajputs in mind. The Madhya Pradesh Government should also have no objection in doing so.
Mr Tomar said the Mahasabha would be forced to take stern action if the government did not provide positive response.
