Lucknow, Feb 18 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government would register an FIR against a state civil services officer, who has already been suspended, for spreading religious and communal hatred through his book which has some inflammatory references to certain religions, castes and great personalities.

''A 1977 batch Provincial Civil Services(PCS) officer Laxmi Kant Shukla, who wrote the book 'Jati Raaj' has been placed under suspension and the matter has been referred to the Home Department for further probe,'' official sources told UNI here.

Sources said that FIR would be lodged very soon against the official for spreading religious and communal hatred.

The book, published recently, has some definite objectionable contents with reference to several political and social luminaries.

The comments made in the book could give rise to political, social, religious and communal hatred hence the action is being planned, according to the sources.

Meanwhile, the state government has initiated a probe against the official for violating the Government Official code of Conduct Act by but writting a book without taking any prior permission.

Before this, two senior bureaucrats had been suspended by the Mayawati government for registering their foreword messages in the book authored by a Central Government employee in Sultanpur having some contents which had eulogised the Gandhi family.
