Varanasi, Feb 18: Noted thinker K N Govindacharya said 'Ganga' is not just a holy river, but also the symbol of country's religion and culture, whose flow should never stop.
Mr Govindacharya was present at a function in Rajendra Prasad ghat here to welcome the 'Ganga Pravah Yatra'.
The Yatra that started from Ganga Sagar had reached the holy city late last night, sources said today.
'' We have polluted Ganga very much in the last fifty years...now, we should take steps to check the mushrooming pollution in the river,'' he underlined.
Each person should take it as a responsibilty to protect the river, otherwise, the day would not be far when pollution would kill it, Mr Govindacharya added.
