Suicide bombers planning attacks, provinces warned
Islamabad, Feb.17 : The Pakistan Government has warned the police chiefs of four provinces and capital Islamabad to step up security around Arab diplomatic missions and also for PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif following an intelligence report that suicide bombers might strike 'within next 72 hours' to sabotage the February 18 elections.
The Dawn quoted sources as saying that high-level talks were being held to review plans for the protection of sensitive installations and important political figures.
The sources said that another letter sent to the Punjab and the North West Frontier Province governments by the federal government informed them that four suicide bombers were planning simultaneous attacks somewhere in the country.
The Arab missions have been identified as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq.
