Social activist Roshan Lal passes away
Hamirpur, Feb 17 (UNI) Social activist Roshan Lal Puri passed away at his Barahwal residence here today.
He was 70.
Puri is survived by his wife three sons and three daughters.
Founder of the Puri and Sarv Hith Sudhar Sabhas, he did a lot for the well being of the people of the town. Puri also donated the money he was awarded by a Ludhiana-based trust in appreciation of his philanthropic activities.
The social worker was cremated at the Hathli Khad crematorium earlier today in presence of hundreds of people, including leaders of various political and social organisations.
Expressing grief and sorrow over Puri's death, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal described him a true son of soil.
In his condolence message to the family, Mr Dhumal said he was deeply shocked over his death.
