New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) A day after Delhi Police admitted that its personnel accepted a bribe from the aides of kidney racket kingpin Dr Amit Kumar, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil today said there should not be any misuse of power by the police.
''I believe most of the force (Delhi Police) was doing good'', he said, in an indirect reference to the black spot of the Delhi Police.
Addressing the 61st raising day parade function of the Delhi Police here, Mr Patil added that 99 per cent of policemen and women were discharging their duties sincerely.
''There were mainly two kinds of thoughts a person carries -- good thoughts and bad thoughts -- one should try and avoid bad ones,'' Mr Patil said.
The police with the arrest of ASI Ravinder Kumar Singh of the Special Staff, yesterday, had accepted the involvement of its men in the kidney racket.
The arrested ASI was charged under Sections 342, 384, 389 and 120-B of the IPC.
Many dignitaries, including Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit and senior police officers were present at the function.
