Officials convicted in ACB cases
Hyderabad, Feb 16 (UNI) The Special Judge for Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) cases, Visakhapatnam, today convicted a Panchayat Raj Department Deputy Executive Engineer, working at Narsipatnam, and sentenced him to one-year rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000.
An official release said a case was registered against Engineer D V Satyanarayana on alleged falsification of records and misappropriation of government funds meant for taking up works under Employment Assurance Scheme.
In another case, Special Judge for ACB cases in Nellore convicted B Sivakumar, Line Inspector of state Electricity Department, and sentenced him to one-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000.
He was arrested by the ACB officials, while accepting Rs 2,000 as bribe from the complainant on March 11, 2004, the release added.
