MoU signed with German firm to set up Assembly complex
Chennai, Feb 16 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government has signed an agreement with German architectural firm GMP International for construction of a new hi-tech Legislative Assembly complex at a cost of Rs 200 crore.
An official release here said, the Secretariat complex, with a built-up area of 75,000 sqm, would be constructed at the sprawling Omandurar Government Estate in the heart of the city.
GMP Interntional was selected from seven companies short-listed through a global tender process. It would start the construction works in the next six months.
The signing of MoU followed Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's announcement in the Assembly, granting administrative sanction for the new complex.
