Gurgaon, Feb 16 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupender Singh Hooda today said that the Government will consider setting up a Korfball Academy in the state.
While addressing a gathering after giving away the prizes to the winners of 21th National Korf Ball Championship, Mr Hooda also announced to give a sum of Rs five lakh to the Korfball Association of India and Haryana.
In this championship, Haryana emerged champion while Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir finished second and third respectively.
''With a view to promote sports in a big way, the state government is incuring a sum of Rs 40 crore during the current financial year. Besides, to promote rural sports, the state government has also decided to construct 154 rural stadia in the state at a cost of Rs 76 crore,'' he said.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of a sports stadium at village Daulta Bad which would be constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.
