Haryana Agri Deptt to set up 15 integrated facility centres
Chandigarh, Feb 16 (UNI) Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board has decided to set up 15 modern integrated facility centres-pack houses all across the state to provide fresh quality vegetables to the citizens countrywide and to boost export from the state alongwith Post Harvest Management solution.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Board said that these centres would be set up at Faridabad, Abubshahar, Yamunanagar, Shahbad, Hisar, Jind, Pehowa, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Panipat, Panchkula, Jhajjar, Karnal, Shahbad and Sonipat.
These centres would be set up for sorting, grading, washing, waxing, packaging and shrink rapping for variety of vegetables and fruits. The centres would also have facility like pack house with ample space for grading, packing, pre-cooler, cold storage and ripening chamber.
The services like electricity, water, sanitation and a farmer information centre to disseminate the information to farmers and grower regarding price, supply and demand of their product would also be provided in the centres.
Spokeman of the Board said that machinery and equipment for grading and packing would be procured and installed for mainly radish, carrot, cabbage, cauliflower, chillies, lady finger, cucurbits, brinjal, arbi, peas, leafy vegetables, onion, tomato and potato, which were grown in the state.
